With this sculpture, I represented the Greek myth of Prometheus, who stole fire from the Gods to give it to men. His gesture is linked to his brother Epimetheus’ inattention: entrusted by Zeus with distributing powers and qualities to all living beings, he forgot about men, who were left without any weapon or talent. However, the fury of the Master of Olympus fell on Prometheus who was chained to a column, while an eagle injured him at the liver every day: he is condemned to a life of pain since the organ regenerates, making his suffering eternal.

I carved Prometheus leaning forward in the useless attempt to free himself and put an end to the pain. I lingered on the details of a suffering body without renouncing to represent the elegance of human movements.
