A PASSION CARVED IN THE MATTER

I’ve been attracted by sculpture since I was very young:
I followed it, I got to know it; I welcomed it into my life.

ABOUT ME

NICOLA GIACOMELLO

I am an all-round sculptor, I wouldn’t know what artistic movement I fit in, but I know, for sure, this is what I will do for the rest of my life. I do not follow specific rules to create my sculptures: an art work can come from a conversation with someone, from a self-reflection, from a thought cultivated over time or a sudden emotion.

LAB

WHERE SCULPTURES COME TO LIFE

My sculptures are figurative: I love discovering the expressive potential of the human body. I often use my iron structures: I model them and get the shape I want, then I start thinking about the materials to use and the symbolisms to convey.

Since each artwork is a precious piece to me, I use fine and noble materials, such as marble and bronze. However, I am convinced that the difference does not lay in the material itself, but in the processing it undergoes.

TECHNIQUES

THE PERFECT MATERIAL TO CARVE EACH IDEA

From fiberglass to silicone rubber, from plaster to clay, from wood to iron, from marble to bronze, you will find both noble and poor materials among my works because it is from their mixture that the art work takes on a meaning, embodies an idea and conveys a message.
